In partnership with the City of Lavon, Community Waste Disposal provides a comprehensive program for all refuse and recycling needs.
Trash will be collected weekly.
Place trash items inside your city-provided 95-gallon cart. Up to 5 bags of trash outside of the cart will be accepted.
Place all trash items out no later than 7:00 am for pickup between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm on your service days. Please ensure all trash containers and the recycle cart are separated by at least three (3) feet, and three (3) feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Position the trash cart with the wheels toward the street.
All 95-gallon carts and recycling containers shall not be stored at curbside. Carts and recycling containers shall be returned within 24 hours after scheduled pickup. They shall be returned to a sight line within or adjoining the residence or inside a storage area which is located behind the front building line of your residence.
Recycling will be picked up every other week, on the same day as your trash service.
All recyclables must be placed inside the blue 95-gallon recycle cart.

Bulk & Brush
Bulky waste and brush will be collected on your regular trash day. You are limited to four (4) cubic yards of bulky waste and loose brush per collection.
Place all bulky waste and brush items next to your trash receptacle no later than 7:00 am on your designated trash day.
Tree limbs must be placed with trunks parallel to the street without obstructing the sidewalk. Individual items or bundles must weigh less than 50 pounds, and be no longer than 10 feet.

- Toys and Yard Tools Tagged as “Bulk Item”
- Bundled Carpet in 4-foot Lengths
- Fence Panels No Larger than 4′ x 6′
- Washing Machines, Dryers, Water Heaters and Kitchen Appliances
- Refrigerators/Freezers (Must be tagged certifying removal of refrigerants)
Bulk Items – Prohibited
- Commercial Construction and Remodeling Debris
- Household Hazardous Waste
- Tires, Batteries, and Propane Tanks
- Loose Debris (Debris must be placed in a box or other container no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.)
Additional Trash and Bulk Items
Special collection of items that do not fit into the bulk category must be arranged through CWD and are subject to an additional charge for collection.
Residents must call CWD (972.392.9300) by noon on Friday for a Saturday collection on their scheduled week.
Trash and Recycling services are provided weekly – Thursday.
Loose Brush – Residents can schedule a once a month service for a large amount of loose brush (not to exceed 4 cubic yards) may call CWD (972.392.9300).

Q How do I get my trash cart replaced if it is damaged by the trash or has normal wear and tear? Does it cost anything?
A Please call CWD at 972.392.9300. There is not a cost for replacement unless the damage is caused by fire. If the damage is caused by fire there is a replacement cost.
