The Van Alstyne City Council has taken an important step forward by unanimously approving a five-year contract with Community Waste Disposal (CWD), set to begin on June 1, 2026. This partnership promises to bring top-notch waste management services to the community, including trash collection, recycling, bulky waste, and bundled brush pickup. Notably, CWD will also offer a convenient Door-side Collection service for household hazardous waste (HHW) and used electronics, ensuring safe disposal options for residents.
With a commitment to sustainability, CWD will utilize a fleet of eco-friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles and provide new 95-gallon trash and recycling carts to make waste disposal more efficient. Furthermore, CWD is eager to engage with the community, enhancing local events through sustainable practices and raising awareness about the vital role of recycling. This initiative reflects a shared vision for a cleaner, greener Van Alstyne, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on the community.
