Trash Collection

Trash will be collected once a week.

To help protect our employees, we strongly encourage that ALL HOUSEHOLD TRASH BE PLACED IN BAGS inside the CWD-provided grey 95-gallon trash cart.

Place all trash items out no later than 7:00 a.m. for pickup between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on your service days. Please ensure the trash receptacles and the recycle cart are separated by at least three feet, and three feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Please ensure there is a 16-foot clearance above your cart. Position the trash cart with the wheels toward the residence.

Recycling Services

Recycling will be picked up once a week. See Service Schedule tab to determine the pickup days in your area.

Recycling Guidelines

Bulk & Brush

Bulk and brush is collected every other month. Place all bulk and brush items at your curb no later than 7:00 a.m. on the Monday of your service week. PLEASE NOTE that residents NORTH of Pleasant Run Road will be serviced during ODD months, and residents SOUTH of Pleasant Run Road will be serviced during EVEN months.

For example:
May = Month 5 (ODD). Bulk and brush service NORTH of Pleasant Run.
June = Month 6 (EVEN). Bulk and brush service SOUTH of Pleasant Run.

You are limited to 12 cubic yards of bulky waste and brush per collection.

Important! CWD does not provide pickup for commercial demolition, construction, nor remodeling debris. Household debris must be containerized to be eligible for pickup. The box or other disposable container must be no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.

Brush

Tree limbs must be placed with trunks parallel to the street without obstructing the sidewalk. Individual items or bundles must weigh less than 50 pounds, and be no longer than 10 feet.

Bulky Waste – Acceptable

  • Toys and Yard Tools Tagged as “Bulk Item”
  • Furniture
  • Bundled Carpet in 4-foot Lengths
  • Fence Panels No Larger than 4′ x 6′
  • Washing Machines, Dryers, Water Heaters and Kitchen Appliances
  • Refrigerators/Freezers (must be tagged certifying removal of refrigerants)
  • Additional Trash Bags

Bulky Waste – Prohibited

  • Single Items Weighing More than 150 lbs.
  • Commercial Construction and Remodeling Debris
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Tires, Batteries, and Propane Tanks
  • Loose Debris (Debris must be placed in a box or other container no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.)

During non-service months, residents may drop off up to 12 cubic yards of bulky waste and brush at the CWD Transfer Station, 2010 California Crossing Road, Dallas, TX 75220 the first Saturday of the month, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., excluding holidays. A copy of your current water bill is required. Charges will apply to volumes in excess of 12 cubic yards.

X-treme Green Events

Community Waste Disposal will host two X-treme Green Events per year in the City of Lancaster. X-treme Green Events are a one-stop place to dispose of household hazardous waste, automotive tires, household metal goods, and used electronics. Confidential document shredding is also available onsite.
