Service Transition

Community Waste Disposal (CWD) will begin trash and recycling services in the City of Lake Worth on Wednesday, April 1.

New Service Schedule

  • WEDNESDAY – Beginning Wednesday, April 1, current TUESDAY/FRIDAY customers will be serviced weekly, on Wednesdays.
  • THURSDAY – Beginning Thursday, April 2, current MONDAY/THURSDAY customers will be serviced weekly, on Thursdays.

  • All TRASH must be BAGGED and placed inside your grey CWD trash cart.
  • All RECYCLABLES must be placed LOOSELY inside your blue CWD recycle cart. DO NOT BAG RECYCLABLES.

Trash Collection

Trash will be collected once a week. See the Service Schedule tab for collection map to determine the pickup day for your area.

All household TRASH must be placed in bags inside the CWD-provided grey 95-gallon trash cart.

Place all trash items out no later than 7:00 a.m. for pickup between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on your service day. Please ensure the trash and recycle carts are separated by at least three feet, and three feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches.

Position the trash cart where the driveway meets the street, with wheels toward the residence.

Recycling Services

Recycling will be collected once a week. See the Service Schedule tab for collection map to determine the pickup day for your area.

All RECYCLABLES must be empty, clean, and dry, and placed LOOSELY inside the CWD-provided blue 95-gallon recycle cart.

Recycling Guidelines

Bulky Waste & Loose Brush

Bulky waste and loose brush will be collected once a week, on your trash collection day. You are limited to four cubic yards of bulky waste and/or loose brush per collection. Do not place more than four cubic yards of loose brush in a pile.

Limbs should not be greater than six inches in diameter, should weigh no more than 150 pounds, and should not be longer than five feet. All limbs should be placed with trunks parallel to the street.

Place all bulky waste and loose brush items next to your trash receptacles no later than 7:00 a.m. on your designated service day. Be sure the item pile is at least three feet away from carts and obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches.

Important! CWD does not provide pickup for commercial demolition, construction, nor remodeling debris. Household debris must be containerized to be eligible for pickup. The box or other disposable container must be no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 lbs.

Bulk Items – Acceptable

  • Toys and Yard Tools Tagged as “Bulk Item”
  • Furniture
  • Bundled Carpet in 4-foot lengths
  • Fence Panels No Larger than 4′ x 6′
  • Bagged Leaves
  • Washing Machines, Dryers, Water Heaters, and Kitchen Appliances
  • Refrigerators/Freezers (must be tagged certifying removal of refrigerants)

Bulk Items – Prohibited

  • Single Items Weighing More than 150 lbs.
  • Commercial Remodeling/Construction Debris
  • Household Hazardous Waste (includes paint, aerosols, motor oil, etc.)
  • Tires, Batteries, and Propane Tanks
  • Household Trash
  • Loose Household Debris (Debris must be placed in a box or other container no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 lbs.)

All fluids (gas/oil) must be removed from engines.
