Service Transition

As part of the transition to Community Waste Disposal (CWD), an updated trash and recycling collection schedule will take effect on December 1, 2025. For most Celina residents, collection days will remain the same. However, Waste Connections has serviced some neighborhoods on an incorrect day, and a portion of the Downtown area – specifically properties west of the railroad and along S. Walnut Street – will see their collection day shift from Thursday to Wednesday.

Beginning December 1, 2025, trash collection for other neighborhoods will also move to the correct scheduled day as outlined below:

  • Amavi, Celina Hills, Wilson Creek Meadows, and Wilson Creek Meadows – West: Moving from Tuesday to Friday
  • North Sky and Parkside: Moving from Thursday to Wednesday
  • Parks at Wilson Creek: Moving from Friday to Tuesday

Residents in the affected area are encouraged to review the updated collection schedule to confirm their designated service day and ensure timely placement of carts for pickup.

Cart Removals & Deliveries

To ensure a smooth and efficient transition, Waste Connections and CWD will coordinate the removal of existing carts and the delivery of new carts between October 27 and November 21, 2025.

  • Waste Connections will remove existing trash and recycling carts.
  • CWD will deliver new trash and recycling carts during the same period.
  • Extra carts will be replaced for residents currently paying for the service. Residents are encouraged to review their monthly utility bill to ensure proper invoicing for any additional carts. If you are not being billed for an extra cart, please contact the City’s Utility Customer Service at (972) 382-3345 or via email at [email protected]Please note: Delivery of extra carts will occur on your designated service day and will be completed by a separate CWD crew from the team delivering the initial two carts.

Removals and deliveries will occur on your current collection day. The City is divided into four quadrants to complete the process over a four-week period. Delivery Zone Maps can be reviewed here.

Following the completion of cart removals and deliveries, residents will begin using the new CWD carts. Waste Connections will continue servicing these carts through December 1, at which point CWD will officially assume full responsibility for residential trash and recycling collection services.

If Your Carts are Missed

While every effort will be made to complete all cart removals and deliveries on schedule, unforeseen delays may occur due to weather conditions, staffing, or logistical factors. The City and CWD are committed to resolving any missed collections or deliveries as quickly as possible to minimize inconvenience for residents.

  • If old carts are not removed during your scheduled week, please continue to place them at your regular collection point. Crews will make additional passes in the following weeks to ensure all carts are collected.
  • If carts remain after November 24, please report them to CWD Customer Service for prompt follow-up.
  • If new carts are not delivered by 7:00 p.m. on the day after your scheduled delivery, please contact CWD Customer Service directly at 972.392.9300/Option 2 or [email protected].
