Trash Collection
Trash will be collected once a week, on Wednesday.
Household trash must fit inside your city-provided 95-gallon cart. All 95-gallon carts and recycling containers shall not be stored at curbside. Carts and recycling containers shall be returned within 24 hours after scheduled pickup. Return them to a sight line within or adjoining the residence or inside a storage area which is located behind the front building line of your residence.
Please place all trash inside bags before putting it into the cart and confirm the lid is completely closed. Up to 5 bags of trash outside of the cart will be accepted.
Place all trash items out no later than 7:00 am for pickup between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm on your service day. Please ensure the trash cart and recyclable items are separated by at least 10 feet, and three (3) feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Position the trash cart with handles toward the street.
Recycling Services
Recycling will be picked up every other week, on Wednesday.
All recyclables must be placed inside the blue 95-gallon recycle cart. If you have additional items to recycle, please put them inside blue bags, Kraft bags, or cardboard boxes and place them next to the recycle cart.
Place all recyclable items out no later than 7:00 am for pickup between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm on your service day. Please ensure the recyclable items and trash carts are separated by at least 10 feet, and three (3) feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Position the recycle cart with the wheels toward the street.

Recycling Guidelines
Bulk & Brush Collection
Bulky waste and brush will be collected on your regular trash pickup day. You are limited to a maximum of two (2) cubic yards of bulky waste and loose brush per collection.
Important! CWD does not provide pickup for commercial demolition, construction, nor remodeling debris. Household debris must be containerized to be eligible for pickup. The box or other disposable container must be no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
Place all bulky waste and brush items next to your trash receptacle no later than 7:00 am on your designated trash pickup day.
Brush
Tree limbs must be placed with trunks parallel to the street without obstructing the sidewalk. Loose brush should be neatly stacked in 4-foot lengths, and weigh no more than 40 pounds.

- Single Items Weighing More than 150 lbs.

- Household Hazardous Waste
- Tires, Batteries, and Propane Tanks
- Loose Debris (Debris must be placed in a box or other container no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.)
Cart Replacement
If your cart has been damaged or needs replacement due to normal wear and tear, please call CWD Customer Service at 972.392.9300, Option 2, to request a replacement cart.

Q How do I get my trash cart replaced if it is damaged or has normal wear and tear? Does it cost anything?
A Please call CWD at 972.392.9300. Your cart will be replaced at no charge unless the damage is caused by fire.
Q I have out-of-compliance trash items. Am I able to get them picked up?
A Yes! Please call Customer Service at 972.392.9300, Option 2, and request an estimate for a special pickup. Estimates are free.
Q Whom do I call to get an extra trash or recycle cart?

Q Where can I purchase the brown biodegradable bags for the yard waste program?
A The bags can be purchased at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and most grocery stores.
Q Where can I take my extra trash or bulk to dispose of it myself?
A Items can be taken to the Custer Road Transfer Station located at 9901 Custer Road in Plano. It is south of Highway 121, off of Custer. Their phone number is 972.727.6341.
