Little Elm logoAll 95 gallon trash carts shall be placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on designated collection days, but shall not be placed out for collection earlier than 6 p.m. prior to the day of scheduled collection.

All 95 gallon carts shall not be stored at curbside. Carts shall be returned within 24 hours after scheduled pickup to a sight line within or adjoining the residence, or inside a storage area which is located behind the front building line of your residence.

Please place all debris in the cart. Trash outside the cart will not be serviced. The cart should be placed at the edge of the driveway & road with the lid closed and 4 feet of clearance space on either side and behind the cart.

Please place the 95 gallon cart handle facing your house and within 3 feet of the curb.

Overloaded carts will not be serviced.

Recycling Dos and Don'ts

Little Elm logo Recycling is picked up weekly on your regular regular service day. All 95 gallon blue recycling carts shall be placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on designated collection days, but shall not be placed out for collection earlier than 6 p.m. prior to the day of scheduled collection.

Approved items for recycling. Please rinse items and place in the 95 gallon blue recycling cart.
  • dry newspapers (including inserts)
  • phone books, magazines, catalogs, office paper & junk mail
  • plastic bottles #s 1–5 and #7
  • flattened aluminum drink cans
  • tin/steel cans
  • empty steel aerosol cans
  • unbroken glass bottles and jars
  • broken down cardboard
  • shredded paper (please place in paper bag to avoid scattering during collection)

Little Elm logo Please have items out by 7:00 am on Wednesday of your service week. Bulk refuse items are items that do not fit in your cart; however hazardous waste, construction material and remodeling debris will not be collected. Tree limbs need to be 4 feet by 2 feet bundled and tied.

Courtesy Drop-off Site for Bulk Trash and Brush located at 1600 Brenda Ln.
The Town provides a courtesy drop-off site for its residents for the disposal of bulk trash and brush. The site is located at 1600 Brenda Ln., one block south of Eldorado, and one block west of Preston on the Lakes Drive. Residents must provide a copy of their water utility bill and photo identification in order to access the courtesy drop-off site

Current Hours of Operation:
Friday     5 pm to 9 pm
Saturday    8 am to 5 pm
Sunday    8 am to 5 pm


Semi-annual "Clean and Green” Days at the Courtesy Drop-off Site
In the spring and fall of each year, the Town conducts a Town-wide clean-up event that allows Little Elm residents to purge their homes, garages and property of large debris items, brush & tree limbs and household hazardous waste. Recycling opportunities are made available for electronic equipment, batteries, tires and metal. Large volume paper shredding is also provided.

Little Elm logo For commercial & industrial customers we have several equipment options:
  • side-load containers: 2-, 3- or 4-yard
  • front-load containers: 4-, 6- or 8-yard
  • open top roll-off containers: 20-, 30- or 40-yard
  • compactors: 20-, 28-, 30- or 35-yard

These can be hauled according to set schedules or on an "on call" basis. Temporary construction Roll-off containers are available for a single haul or for multiple hauls and can be used by both individuals as well as businesses.

CWD does NOT provide temporary restroom facility services.

Brush and Bulky Waste serviced twice a month. Residents having Monday and Tuesday trash service days will have their brush and bulk service on the 1st and 3rd FULL WEEK (Mon-Fri) of the month. Residents having Wednesday, Thursday and Friday trash service days will have their brush and bulk service on the 2nd and 4th FULL WEEK (Mon-Fri) of the month. Brush and Bulk service will be from Wednesday-Friday on your service week.

Questions & Answers

Q - How do I get my trash cart replaced if it is damaged by the trash or has normal wear and tear? Does it cost anything?
A - Please call CWD at 972.392.9300 opt.2. There is not a cost for replacements unless the damage is caused by fire. If the damaged is caused by fire there is a replacement cost.
 
Q - How do I get extra trash collected or items that are not in compliance picked up?
A - You can call Customer Service and request and estimate for a special pickup, at 972.392.9300 opt 2. Estimates are free.
 
Q - Who do I call to get an extra trash or recycle cart and what does it cost?
A - The City of Little Elm takes orders for extra containers and can provide the cost for them. They will then contact CWD for delivery of these containers. Please call 972.294.1821.
 
Q - Where can I take my paint cans (hazardous waste) with paint still in them?
A - Please call the Town of Little Elm at 972.294.1821.
