City of Frisco logo In cooperation with the City of Frisco, CWD provides a full complement of services to Frisco residents:

Services Include:
  • Once a week collection.
  • Fully automated service (driver does not leave truck).
  • One 95 gallon cart provided, per single family household.
Service Guidelines:
  • Roll out for collection by 7 a.m.
  • Carts should not be placed together. Space at least 3 feet apart.

Examples of how your carts should be set out
  • Must be at least 3 feet away from obstacles such as gas meters, fencing, utility boxes/poles.
  • All trash must be inside the cart – items outside will not be collected.
  • Contents should be bagged and lids closed.
  • Overloading cart will result in non-collection.
Effective March 1, 2009 NTMWD’s Custer Road Transfer Station WILL NO LONGER accept white metals (appliances). Residents can still take appliances to other NTMWD facilities, including:

- Parkway Transfer Station, 4030 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, 75093 (just west of Coit), phone: 972.596.8709
- Lookout Transfer Station, 1601 E Lookout Drive, Richardson, 75081, phone: 972.234.3247

For Your Records:
Make a note of your cart’s serial number. It will assist you in identifying your cart should it go missing. Carts are the property of Community Waste Disposal - residents will be charged for  replacement carts.

Recycling is easy in the City of Frisco. Follow these steps and we’ll do the rest:
  • Roll out your cart for service.
  • Place cart at least three (3) feet away from any obstacles.
  • Read directions on the lid.
  • Place recyclable items, which are illustrated on the lid, in your cart -- not the trash.
  • Remove caps on bottles and jars.
  • Rinse out or empty products before placing in the cart.
“DO” Recycle:
  • Aluminum and Steel Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Catalogues
  • Cereal and Dry Food boxes
  • Envelopes
  • Glass (colored and white)
  • Greeting cards
  • Junk mail
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Phone books
  • Clean Plastic Containers and Bottles - numbers 1 – 7 except 6
  • Shredded paper (please place in paper bag to avoid scattering during collection)

All Containers Must be Rinsed.
“DON’T” Recycle:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Aerosol cans
  • Ceramic cookware
  • Packing Peanuts
  • Pizza boxes
  • Styrofoam
  • Tissue Paper
  • Waxed juice/milk cartons
Do not recycle common household hazardous waste in the curbside recycling cart.
Household hazardous waste includes:
  • Paints, solvents and thinners.
  • Pool chemicals.
  • Garden fertilizers and Pesticides.
  • Propane/helium tanks.
  • Automobile products and parts.

Recycling Dos and Don'ts



City of Frisco logoFREE “Large Item” Collection
Check out the map to find out when you can throw away unwanted, large items. The map colors distinguish Saturday pick up zones.

If you live in the “green section” your collection is on the first Saturday of the month; “yellow” the 2nd Saturday; “purple” the 3rd Saturday; and “brown” the 4th Saturday.

Weight restrictions and number of items per pick up apply.

To schedule a pick up, call CWD at 972-392-9300 one week prior to preferred pickup date.

Acceptable items:
  • Furniture
  • Old Appliances: stoves, washing machines, water tank heaters (Please note: Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners must be tagged “freon-free” by a certified technician).
  • Outdoor grills
  • Lawnmowers (Must be free of gasoline and oil)
  • Carpet
  • Metal and wood poles (Under 4 ft and free of concrete)
  • Kitchen cabinets, countertops (Maximum of 50 pounds and 4 foot sections)
  • Fence sections (6 ft) & Wood pallets - Maximum of 5 each
Not Acceptable:
  • Tree limbs, stumps, sod and root balls
For Metal/Appliance pickup (ie. Washers, Dryers, Hot Water Heaters, Etc.) Please contact the city of Frisco @ 972.335.5519 opt 1 for pickup. The city of Frisco schedules these pickups on Thursdays.

City of Frisco logoGrass clippings and yard debris should not be placed in your recycling or trash cart.

Pick Up Guidelines:

  • Grass, leaves, plants, small cuttings
  • Use paper bags. Plastic bags are not accepted.
  • Place three feet away from your cart on your regularly scheduled pick up day.
  • Paper bags may be purchased at local grocery, hardware stores.
Tree Limbs
  • Cut into three foot lengths.
  • Tie and bundle with maximum weight not to exceed thirty (30) pounds.
  • Place three feet away from your blue recycling cart on your regularly scheduled.

Unacceptable material:
Tree stumps, sod, roots or shrubs with intact root balls.

Free “do-it-yourself” disposal available at the Custer Road Transfer Station.

  • side-load containers: 2-, 3- or 4-yard
  • front-load containers: 4-, 6- or 8-yard
  • open top roll-off containers: 20-, 30- or 40-yard
  • compactors: 20-, 28-, 30- or 35-yard

These can be hauled according to set schedules or on an "on call" basis. Temporary construction Roll-off containers are available for a single haul or for multiple hauls and can be used by both individuals as well as businesses.

CWD does NOT provide temporary restroom facility services.

Questions & Answers

Q - How do I get my trash cart replaced if it is damaged by the trash or has normal wear and tear? Does it cost anything?
A - Please call CWD at 972.392.9300 . There is not a cost for replacements unless the damage is caused by fire. If the damaged is caused by fire there is a replacement cost.
 
Q - How do I get extra trash collected or items that are not in compliance picked up?
A - You can call Customer Service and request and estimate for a special pickup, at 972.392.9300 .
 
Q - Who do I call to get an extra trash or recycle cart and what does it cost?
A - The City of Frisco takes orders for and delivers the extra carts. Please call 972.335.5519, option 1.
 
Q - Where can I purchase the brown biodegradable bags for the yard waste program?
A - The bags can be purchased at Lowes, Home Depot and most grocery stores.
 
Q - Where can I take my extra trash or bulk to dispose of it myself?
A - You can take items to the Custer Road Transfer Station located at 9901 Custer Road. It is south of Highway 121, off of Custer. Their phone number is 972.727.6341.
 
Q - Where can I take my paint cans (hazardous waste) with paint still in them?
A - Please call the City of Frisco at 972.335.5519 opt 1 for Customer Service.
